Varvara Tishina

Soprano Varvara Tishina has built a reputation as a charismatic, intelligent and versatile performer of oratorio, lied duo repertoires and operatic roles. She has a lovely voice with a crystal clarity and warm touching nuances in the shimmering timbre. Her voice is smooth and even throughout its range. She is emotionally generous and every performance registers her deep personal expression of what she feels, experienced or believes. One of her main qualities is her versatility and that is reflected in the wide variety of projects she is involved in. During last years her engagements include pieces ranging from Bach’s Mattheus Passion to the work of Olivier Greif, Will Todd, Frangis Ali-Zadeh and Djuro Živković.
In season 2018/2019 she will appear in titel role of Amina in La Sonnambula en as a Catherine in De Ontmaskering van Peter de Grote with Barokopera Amsterdam.

Last season she made an Opera Hogeland debut in a title role of Mimi in “La Boheme”. Later she appeared in NTR ZaterdagMatinee as Un’ancella di Amelia in Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” with Dutch Radio Philarmonic orchestra under James Gaffigan. She also has performed a solo parts in many oratorical concerts singing works of Mendelssohn, Rutter, Faure and Mozart with elegant stylish precise.
With pianist V.Dmitrieva she was acclaimed the best young Lied Duo in 2017 and became a member of Dutch Lied Duo society.

Next season they will appear with concerts in venues in Netherlands. In their repertoire there are masterpieces of Mozart, Grieg, Wolf, Strauss, Ravel, Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Glier, Ipolitov-Ivanov, Barber etc. In season 2018/2019 they are planning to record CD with Russian art-songs.

Highlights of the past seasons include the debut in title role Nedda in “I Pagliacci” by Leoncavallo with Opera Hogeland. Solo in new works of Frangis Ali-Zadeh and Djuro Živković with Concertgebouw orchestra and Dutch Radio Choir under Martyn Brabbins. Dutch premier of „Requiem” and “Te Deum” by Will Todd. Mozart Messa in C-moll, F. Poulenc Gloria, Brahms “Ein Deutsches Requiem“, “Matthäus-Passion” J.S. Bach with SKA. In 2015 she represented Prince Claus Conservatory in final round of Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Competition (Amsterdam). In May 2015 she won the Nederlands choir society prize (“VTN Aanmoedigingsprijs”) as the best young oratorio singer.

She graduated Master Program in Prince Claus Concervatorium in 2015 under Hanneke de Wit. During her study she has honed her vocal and artistic skills under guidance of famous artists such as Miranda van Kralingen, Margreet Honig and other. Also she mastered her artistical scills in 2014 International Opera Academy „Le Nozze di Figaro“.

Besides her rising career as a soloict, Varvara also much in demand as a choir singer. She works with the Groot Omroepkoor (Dutch Radio Choir), Nederlands Kamerkoor and Collegium Vocale Gent. Trough choral singing, she has had the opportunity of working with conductors from all over the world.

She has a flexible and agile voice which also has an other side of warm and dark color and she has a perfect sense of drama. All this give her ability to sing a diverse repertoire. Belcanto and later romantic repertoire are the perfect match for her voice and personality.

In May 2019 with pianist V. Dmitrieva she have appeared in International Lied Festival in Zeist with new lied program. In summer 2019 she might be heard in Festival Rive Gauche and Festival les Opéras d’été de Dinard (France).

ViVa Duo

A fruitful collaboration of the soprano Varvara Tishina together with pianist Victoria Dmitrieva has began six years ago at the Prince Claus Conservatorium (The Netherlands). Since then, they have been working together developing as specialists in “Lied duo” repertoire. Their dedication to the world of music had led them to build the collection of over two hundred songs by Mozart, Grieg, Wolf, Strauss, Ravel, Poulenc, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Glière, Ipolitov-Ivanov, Barber etc. In 2017 they became a soloist of Dutch Lied Association (http://www.vvhl.nl/) and continued building the reputation as charismatic, intelligent and versatile performers. Their special interest lids to promotion of the Russian lied repertoire. In may 2019 they were invited to give a recital with Russian program in International Lied Festival in Zeist (https://www.ilfz.nl/).
